Melanie Hammelman is the owner of Hammelman Law, PLLC. She previously worked in litigation which helped her see how estate planning and business planning can go wrong, if not done properly. She has now dedicated her practice to estate planning and business formation and planning. She is a resident of Northern Virginia and enjoys helping others with their legal planning.

Melanie opened her own firm in 2015 after having her first child so she could work and spend time with her son. Several years and another child later, Melanie is enjoying helping others with their estate planning and business needs with her new perspective as a wife and mother. Melanie enjoys, and is well versed in, helping people protect their assets,  families, and businesses.

 

Melanie earned her law degree from South Texas College of Law in 2011. Her concentration in law school was transactional business practice and civil trial advocacy. During law school Melanie was a clerk for a litigation firm and served as a mediator in the Houston metropolitan area. 

 

After graduation, she moved to Northern Virginia with her Army veteran husband and began practicing law. Melanie is licensed in Maryland and Virginia, and her primary fields of practice are estate planning (wills, trusts, power of attorney, etc.) and business law (business formation, contracts,, and employment contracts).
